Coronavirus and Collaborate / Anti-harassment policy

Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Collaborate Bristol 2020

MARCH 24TH 2020

Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19, we have made the decision to postpone Collaborate Bristol to 27th November 2020.

Although Collaborate is some months away, we wanted to act now so you can make a fully informed decision about your attendance.

Our number one priority is not just the health and safety or our delegates, speakers, sponsors and staff, but also the wider public. Postponing the event feels like the only right thing to do.

If you are a ticket holder, your ticket will now be valid for our new date in November, but if you can't attend you are able to claim a full refund through Eventbrite.

We hope to see you at Collaborate in November and urge you all at this time to keep safe, follow government guidelines and look after each other.

We are working to prevent the spread of viruses, by having hand sanitisers available throughout the venue, and alongside the venue and our suppliers and sponsors we are working on a number of actions to reduce the likelihood of transference, including having high touch areas cleaned regularly throughout the day. We encourage you to make use of the sanitisers and to refer to GOV.UK for information and links to the NHS information pages.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.

For further advice on how to stop the spread of viruses please see the NHS website:

Please update yourself regularly as official guidance may change.

Anti-harassment policy

Collaborate Bristol  is dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive conference experience for everyone, free from harassment, bullying, victimisation or exclusion, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, pregnancy, race, age, social background, nationality, financial situation or religion or belief, or any other factor.

We do not accept harassment of conference participants in any form.

Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks. Conference participants infringing these rules may be expelled from the conference without a refund or notice at the discretion of the conference organisers.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to, verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate or unwanted physical contact, invasion of personal space, standing inappropriately close to someone and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.

Exhibitors in the exhibition hall, sponsors or similar activities are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, exhibitors should not use sexualised images, activities, or other material which might cause offence i.e. misuse of religious imagery. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualised clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualised environment.

If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, the conference organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference [with no refund]. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of conference staff immediately. Conference staff can be identified by t-shirts and/or badge. Harassment, bullying, victimisation or exclusion must not be ignored and will be investigated and dealt with as a matter of urgency.

Conference staff will be happy to help delegates contact hotel/venue security or local police, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.
